We started back to “school” last Wednesday. It feels good to be back in our routine, and the boys are thrilled to be having school again. We had to rearrange our schedule a little bit, but it is working out well.
We did a little reorganizing in the school room. We bought a new shelf with bins for storing toys. The new rule is one bin out at a time. The boys are loving it. Having the toys in smaller groupings is actually causing them to play with toys they usually forget about, and they are pretty excited about that. Not to mention the room isn’t getting quite as messy!
Today we focused our lessons on being sweet to one another and how obeying Mommy and Daddy makes Jesus very happy. Joshua said “Great Job Jesus!” I’m not sure why, but he was very enthusiastic about it.
Our first day back to school we used finger paint to make our handprints. Jacob did not like this because he hates getting messy (he’d much rather paint with a paintbrush), but Joshua was thrilled. I should have known that Joshie+fingerpaint=massive mess. Red fingerpaint in the hair, on the teeth, all over his face, on the back of his neck (how in the world?) But he had a really fun time.
“Qui multum datum multum quaeretur.” Luke 12:48
Gotta love little boys! Mine is 11. :( lol. He didn't like to finger paint either. I think he thought it was something bad to do to get paint all over ya. We have homeschooled him since the beginning and love it.
