Simple Woman's Day Book

Outside my window...a beautiful Fall day...cool temperatures, leaves changing colors and beginning to fall, a crisp breeze and sunshine.

I am thinking... I wonder if I will have a chance to get my nails done before this baby comes...

From the learning rooms... I love that the boys really enjoy just sitting at the table with a stack of books...

I am thankful for... the cooler weather settling in, that little James will soon be here, Joe's wonderful kisses and how he is always wanting to hug his brothers (when not tackling them and taking their toys, that is) Joshua wanting to sit on his kickball right beside me while I sit on my exercise ball and the way he wants to hold my hand to walk to the breakfast table in the morning. Jacob and his "unique" personality....we'll just leave it at that, lol.

From the kitchen...whatever is easy at this point!

I am wearing...
gray Yoga pants and a magenta maternity tee shirt.

I am reading... "The Organized Life"

I am hoping...that everything just goes smoothly for this delivery...

I am creating... a big baby- isn't that enough, LOL?

I am praying... too many things to even list!

Around the house...
little last minute things to prepare for baby James.

One of my favorite things... watching Joe desperately want to get out of his stroller and out onto the soccer field to play with the big boys.

A few plans for the rest of the week...
at this point, I'm not making plans!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you..

***I will add the picture later...the cord for my camera is upstairs so I just can't do it right now, lol.***

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for my messy house. Yes, I know, that sounds a little weird coming from me...but, you know, my house couldn't be messy if we didn't have an abundance to be messy with. I could not have a mountain of laundry to do if we did not all have plenty of clothes. My children would not drop food on the floor if they thought they wouldn't have enough to eat. The floor wouldn't have toys scattered all over it if there were not boys to play with them. The boys couldn't squabble if they did not have each other to be best friends with.

So, while it is driving me crazy, it is clear that I have so much to be thankful for.

Turtle Mania

The library had a special class on turtles yesterday, so Jacob and I thought it would be neat to attend. They read turtle stories, sang turtle songs, and then at the end there was a visit from Ghetti the turtle.

Jacob loved getting a special trip to the library with mommy, and we even checked out a turtle book.

Family Pictures

I am finally adding our recent family pictures- sorry it took me so long!

Love,

New Pics of the "Mice" Babies

The one with more white (she's the one IN the food dish, lol) is "Julia", and the gray and white one is "Sparky". Julia seems to REALLY like to eat, especially when they get a treat of strawberry "lids" (as Jacob has always called them, I always give the tops of strawberries to the mice as a treat).

I was not thrilled about adding two more guinea pigs to the family, but I have to admit, these little guys are pretty cute. And seeing the way the four of them interact as a family has really made me like guinea pigs even more. Fluffy is such an awesome mommy, and Rascal is pretty sweet with them too.

And since the babies have known us since birth, they are even more calm and more friendly than their parents. It's been a neat experience for the boys, they really like that we moved their cage into their room, and I think the mice like their new location as well.

And hey- as an added bonus, the mice aren't too likely to destroy my dining room or pee on the living room floor.

Happenings Around Our Home

We've been busy with daily life around here lately, but sometimes it is nice to just stop for some cuddles or to read a story.

The boys finally named the baby mice...The one with larger gray and white patches is named "Sparky", and Jacob decided to name the pretty white one "Julia". The babies are growing fast, and they are just too cute. Yesterday I let the boys pet them for the first time...they are just so soft! We decided to move them into the boys room, and they love watching as they go to sleep.

We've been doing a lot of rearranging and organizing in our house. Busy, Busy! I still need to post pictures of the kitchen and dining room. We are setting up a new formal sitting room off of the dining room, hopefully we will have time to work on it this weekend.

We have been seeing so many deer in our yard and around the neighborhood. It seems like every time I look out of the window there is at least one in the front yard. And when we drive through the neighborhood I usually have to stop and wait for some to cross the road. It feels like we live on some sort of nature preserve, lol.

I am feeling huge these days and just trying to keep up with daily life. Jacob is getting so excited about the new baby coming, he is talking about it all of the time. He is constantly wanting to touch my belly and asks about how the baby is doing. It's so sweet. I love seeing his excitement!

Babies!

We had quite a surprise this morning! I went into the playroom and looked over to see 2 little gray and white "mice" staring back at me. Apparently Fluffy had babies! Apparently she must have had them a week ago and somehow we didn't see them. The babies are doing great, they are active and friendly and so adorably cute!
