Wordless Wednesday

Maybe it says something about our family that most of my Wordless Wednesday pictures are taken at the kitchen table...

What I'm Wearing

Well, I had picked out an outfit based on going to the park, but since I am already dressed, I'm sticking with it, LOL.

I am wearing khaki capris with a yellow and pink plaid blouse, and cropped white sweater. I accessorized with my white Gossip watch, three stone necklace, and diamond stud earrings, and my yellow slip-on tennis shoes.

Change of Plans...

Well, it looks like my plans for the day have just changed. We were supposed to go on a play date at the park, but it is raining! I'm kinda glad to be able to stay home, but I know the boys will be disappointed. :( And I am a little disappointed because I was going to stop and get a mint chocolate coffee, lol.

It's going to be a long day because Rick has meetings all day and then is playing something called Whirley Ball (which sounds like a REALLY bad idea, lol, something about bumper cars, balls and lacrosse type sticks...) so he will be home late. But that at least gives me extra time to get some things done around here. My to-do list doesn't include laundry though because apparently whatever makes the air hot in the dryer has gone out, so we either have to get that fixed or buy a new dryer. Ughhh....

So, I am going to get my kitchen cleaned up (I didn't get to it yesterday and it seriously needs it), and I have a TON of laundry to fold, sort, iron, put away...

Sleeping Bear

A little back story on this picture...

What is cuter than a sleeping bear? How about a sleeping bear that is sleeping in his brother's bed. He'd been playing rather than napping during naptime, but we noticed that he had gotten quiet, so we came in to find him at the bottom of Jacob's bed.

This has always been his favorite sleeping position. The funny thing is that Jacob used to sleep that way too. Must be something genetic?

Outside my window...A bright and sun shiny day! It really looks so pleasant outside...

I am thinking... Wow, I think life is about to get so busy...

From the learning rooms... oh, shoot, I forgot we were supposed to be learning...

I am thankful for... my pretty new paint in the living room and dining room. The rooms just have such a "happy" feel to them now.

From the kitchen... the kitchen...sounds vaguely familiar but I'm not quite sure where it is...

I am wearing... pale green pinstriped pants, and a white textured button down blouse. Pink and green headband and "bear" feet.

I am reading... "The Busy Mom's Book of Preschool Ideas"

I am hoping... to somehow find the energy to get everything done.

I am creating... pretty decorated rooms in our home. Oh so fun.

I am praying... for a terrible situation I heard about yesterday.

Around the house... laundry, laundry, laundry, laundry...

One of my favorite things... mmmmm, coffee

A few plans for the rest of the week... a play date at Penguin Park tomorrow, Story Time at the library on Thursday, painting the kitchen and foyer.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

My Sweet Boys

Love,

Dining Room Re-do!

This weekend we started painting and decorating the downstairs of our home. We chose this Dried Chili Pepper from Dutch Boy for the dining room. We chose these silk drapes to add light to the room. We are just so happy with how it all turned out!

Update

Thursday afternoon I started having contractions and just feeling "icky", so I called Rick and he came home from work. I staid off my feet throughout the evening but continued to feel worse. Throughout the night it got continually worse and I started running a fever and throwing up. We called the midwife in the morning, and she was convinced that I must just have a virus, at which point Rick is trying to explain to her that the contractions started before any other symptoms. She finally suggested to just bring me in to the hospital. Once there they put my on an IV and Zofran (for nausea) and were just absolutely convinced it was nothing more than dehydration, and really weren't taking it very seriously at all. They sent me home as soon as they got one bag of fluids in me, even though I was contracting, and the nurse said to only call if I had a temp over 101.4 for 24 hrs! (one of the most absurd things I have ever heard) We went home frustrated, but not really sure what else to do. So I came home and went straight to bed. The whole rest of the day and night I was continually getting worse, throwing up, contracting and in terrible pain. Rick would take my temp and it would be over 101, he would give me tylenol, it would come down for an hour or two and then spike right back up. I never got out of bed from the time we got home Friday until we headed back to the hospital on Saturday. Finally he called the midwife back on Saturday and he told her how ridiculous it was that the nurse had told us not to call unless my temp staid over 101 for 24 hrs, even though she did tell me to take tylenol. The midwife agreed that that didn't make sense. He updated her on what was going on and she told him to bring me back in. So we head back, and at this point we are really not feeling very confident in the level of care we are receiving. Once back there, they struggle to even get in an IV because at this point I am severely dehydrated. Someone is finally able to get one in with a newborn needle. The give me fluids and more Zofran and then I don't see a nurse again for several hours. At this point I am beyond frustrated but in too much pain and too weak to really say anything, and they wont let Rick back to the room because he has the boys with him. I am looking at the monitor and can see that my contractions are starting to become very regular (as in every three minutes) and I am almost in a panic. Finally shift change happens and a new nurse comes in, takes one look at my chart, and at me, and says "We need to get these contractions stopped". So then finally, the give me two different medications to stop contractions, and this still doesn't help, so she has to give me a second dose of one of them. They also gave me a second bag of IV fluids at which point they finally notice that I am so dehydrated that I haven't even been able to give a urine sample. She eventually tells me that my midwife went home because she was "just too tired" and that basically this nurse and some random doctor who never even comes into the room have been in charge of my care. They sent me home on bedrest. I slept through all of yesterday.

So I am trying to take it easy, we need to keep this baby cooking for a little while longer! We still don't know what caused all of this in the first place, so that is frustrating, but I am hoping that with rest we can get things calmed back down.

Signs of Love

I love looking down at my hand and seeing my wedding rings. Aside from thinking they are pretty, I like having a visible symbol of my marriage, right there with me all the time. It's just a nice reminder that my dear husband loves me and I think of him every time I look down at my hand. I know we don't need these material things to show our love, it isn't about that- I'm sure I would feel the same way if it was nothing more than a rubber band, or a piece of string. I just love wearing something so special that he gave to me, and it is a constant reminder of our love for each other.

Simple Woman's Day Book

Outside my window...A bright and sun shiny day! (and on a Tuesday, no less!)

I am thinking... I wonder if other people sit around thinking about coffee, or I am a total nut, or is it both?

From the learning rooms... reading books inside the big blue dog tent.

I am thankful for... new clothes. I can't help it- I love clothes. Silly, I know, but it is what it is.

From the kitchen... new recipes being collected. I've been trying to find healthy lunch ideas...Scrambled eggs for the boys, and I haven't decided on dinner yet (really need to finish up those menus!)

I am wearing... Khaki capris, an olive green blouse with lavender flowers and a mandarin collar. At the moment I am barefoot (and pregnant, hehe)

I am reading... "The Everything Time Management Book"

I am hoping... to give the boys haircuts today.

I am creating... New outfits. I'm silly but I really enjoy putting together outfits in my little planner book.

I am praying... For a lady who works with Rick who just had her baby yesterday evening, for a dear friend whose husband is leaving very soon to go to school, for energy (my body is just so tired lately)

Around the house... laundry, organizing my desk area (yikes!), general tidying up.

One of my favorite things... standing in my closet and seeing so many good choices of what to wear today.

A few plans for the rest of the week... I don't know really...it's kind of a quiet week. Last weekend was very busy and I think this next weekend will be also. So it's nice to have a little quiet time at home.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

What I'm Wearing

Today I am wearing a new shirt...it's sort of a greenish color, although sometimes it looks a little blue...and light khaki pants with a faint pinstripe. I am wearing brownish/burgundy heels with a black bow detail and my tear drop diamond pendant and matching earrings.

We went shopping this weekend so putting together outfits should be fun for a while :).

Let's Eat Cake!

Jacob wanted icecream cake for his birthday this year. He also wanted a "Cars" cake. Unfortunately we could not find a Cars icecream cake so we had to improvise with a generic birthday icecream cake and a Cars cake topper. He was happy with it though and loved the fact that the cake had icecream in it!

This was the first year where he really wanted a themed birthay...The boys recently watched Cars for the first time and they are in LOVE. All we hear about is Mater, and Mack and Lightening Mcqueen...

Love,

Happy Birthday Jacob!
