Signs of Love

I love looking down at my hand and seeing my wedding rings. Aside from thinking they are pretty, I like having a visible symbol of my marriage, right there with me all the time. It's just a nice reminder that my dear husband loves me and I think of him every time I look down at my hand. I know we don't need these material things to show our love, it isn't about that- I'm sure I would feel the same way if it was nothing more than a rubber band, or a piece of string. I just love wearing something so special that he gave to me, and it is a constant reminder of our love for each other.

Simple Woman's Day Book

Outside my window...A bright and sun shiny day! (and on a Tuesday, no less!)

I am thinking... I wonder if other people sit around thinking about coffee, or I am a total nut, or is it both?

From the learning rooms... reading books inside the big blue dog tent.

I am thankful for... new clothes. I can't help it- I love clothes. Silly, I know, but it is what it is.

From the kitchen... new recipes being collected. I've been trying to find healthy lunch ideas...Scrambled eggs for the boys, and I haven't decided on dinner yet (really need to finish up those menus!)

I am wearing... Khaki capris, an olive green blouse with lavender flowers and a mandarin collar. At the moment I am barefoot (and pregnant, hehe)

I am reading... "The Everything Time Management Book"

I am hoping... to give the boys haircuts today.

I am creating... New outfits. I'm silly but I really enjoy putting together outfits in my little planner book.

I am praying... For a lady who works with Rick who just had her baby yesterday evening, for a dear friend whose husband is leaving very soon to go to school, for energy (my body is just so tired lately)

Around the house... laundry, organizing my desk area (yikes!), general tidying up.

One of my favorite things... standing in my closet and seeing so many good choices of what to wear today.

A few plans for the rest of the week... I don't know really...it's kind of a quiet week. Last weekend was very busy and I think this next weekend will be also. So it's nice to have a little quiet time at home.

What I'm Wearing

Today I am wearing a new shirt...it's sort of a greenish color, although sometimes it looks a little blue...and light khaki pants with a faint pinstripe. I am wearing brownish/burgundy heels with a black bow detail and my tear drop diamond pendant and matching earrings.


We went shopping this weekend so putting together outfits should be fun for a while :).

Let's Eat Cake!

Jacob wanted icecream cake for his birthday this year. He also wanted a "Cars" cake. Unfortunately we could not find a Cars icecream cake so we had to improvise with a generic birthday icecream cake and a Cars cake topper. He was happy with it though and loved the fact that the cake had icecream in it!

This was the first year where he really wanted a themed birthay...The boys recently watched Cars for the first time and they are in LOVE. All we hear about is Mater, and Mack and Lightening Mcqueen...

Jacob's Birthday Trip to the Zoo!

For his birthday, Jacob wanted to go to the zoo- mostly because he wanted to ride the train, lol. It was an extremely hot day, but we had fun anyway. I am not sure we have convinced Jacob that you go to the zoo to see the animals though...he really thinks that is just a side thing to getting to ride the train. He really enjoyed watching the meercats though, and I loved seeing him imitate them later- too cute!

Thankful Thursday

1. I am thankful for the opportunity to attend things like this Time Management Seminar this evening. Just the thought of going makes me feel more motivated...

2. I am thankful for the vast resources and books that having a library provides. The boys and I have all REALLY enjoyed reading and it feels like we can't get our hands on enough books these days!

3. I am thankful for my precious Jacob who is suddenly FOUR YEARS OLD!!!!!!! I don't know how that happened....But, I am thankful for the last four years I have shared with him, and the 8 and a half months I got to share with him before finally seeing his sweet face. I am thankful for the possibilities that lie ahead for him, and for his incredibly bright mind. I am thankful for that special way he talks to just me, how he feels comfortable enough to climb into my lap for cuddles, even though he is "getting bigger now". I am thankful that he has been blessed with so much intelligence to want to question and understand everything around him. I am thankful for the little ways I see him maturing every day, such as when he helps one of his brothers, or tries to teach them about something. I am thankful for his helpful attitude and his willingness to do chores and just be a helper around the house. I am thankful that he wants to open the door for people and that he would carry every heavy thing for me if he could. I am thankful that he wants to grow longer legs so that he can drive me places because he knows that I don't really like driving all that much. I am thankful that he told me that I am a "really nice Mommy" because I helped him pick up his books this morning. I am just so thankful for my Jakers. (even though he would never let me call him that anymore!)

Simple Woman's Day Book

Outside my window...When I woke up this morning it was raining and thundering and I laughed because it ALWAYS rains on Tuesdays, but then the rain cleared and there is actual sunshine outside my window.

I am thinking... wouldn't you like to know, LOL

From the learning rooms... lots and lots of reading, constructive playing with things like blocks, lessons on obedience.

I am thankful for... a quiet day at home. I still have so much to do with lesson plans and menus and scheduling, so I am needing a few days of just being home.

From the kitchen... I have a roast defrosting now, and I am going to put that in the crockpot.

I am wearing... Very dark brown pants, pink polo shirt and a pink pearl necklace.

I am reading... "Holy Yoga" -Exercise for the Christian Body and Soul, and "Raising Motivated Kids"

I am hoping... to find a little time to do some reflective thinking, that I can get the boys' laundry caught up and that oh my an ant just crawled across my laptop screen. Yikes, I really hate ants.

I am creating... I found a stack of things I had printed out to use in scrapbooking the other day and I decided to start cutting them out.

I am praying... for a little clarity and a lot of energy, lol.

One of my favorite things... settling in on the sofa, under a blanket with an icecream bar...HEAVEN

A few plans for the rest of the week... tomorrow is Jacob's birthday (although we are celebrating it on Saturday), Thursday I am attending a Time Management Seminar, and Friday I think we are going to some get together with a mom's group. Saturday we are going to the zoo and celebrating Jacob's birthday.

I have been sharing old pictures of the boys over the last few weeks, so here is one of little Joe at four days old. He was just the sweetest little baby, always wanting to be held close. He's still the most cuddly of the boys, he's always happy to crawl up into my lap for hugs and kisses. It's wild to think about how much he has grown in a little over a year...
