Little Joe

Joseph seems to be at that age where he is either making us laugh or making us want to pull all of our hair out! He is at the point of really wanting to be able to do all that his brothers are doing, but can't quite seem to do it yet. So he is frequently frustrated, but then he seems to find humor in nearly everything, so it works out alright after all, lol. I have a feeling the next few months are going to be interesting...

  3. Good morning Mellie! I remember how busy life is with toddlers! I had 3 girls and then a son. Now I have grandchildren! It has been such a blessing to read your writings this past year. Since Sept 08, when the Lord opened my eyes about covering, then simple dressing, I have read of your journey to the plain and simple life. The Lord has led you to a community of like minded believers and that is wonderful. The Lord has led us to a non-denominational in name, but Baptist in doctrine, salvation is only through the blood of Jesus Christ. Now, an interesting parting from most Baptist churches is occurring in our church. The pastor is burdened about the lack of "community" in our church. We are actually having specific teaching on being a community within our church. This is probably confusing to those who grow up experiencing "community" within their church! For too long, we have sat in church and listened to prayer requests, but done nothing to fulfill those requests. Now, collections are being taken up for specific families, food is being delivered, etc I long for "community", but a situation has brought some questions to my mind. I'm obeying God to give, I'm bringing food to a specific lady in the church, but I know I don't have God's love in my heart for her, because I have judged her as using the church. When she says she has no food, I go buy food. Then when I deliver the food, I see an ashtray full of cigarette butts! That's money spent that could be used for food. I see food in the refrigerator, but she says that's all she has.........how does a community deal with being taken advantage of? I give because God told me to. I know He is in charge of dealing with the receiver. I am still the only covering woman in the church, maybe in all of East Texas! Do you have any thoughts on this? Donna
