Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside my window... a nighttime sky. Oh, and silly moths that are insistent on flying into the window, over and over again. Why do they not realize after the 46th time that doing so will not get them into the light? Then again, perhaps there is a deeper question there. Why do we all insist on doing the same silly things over and over again, only to be frustrated with getting the same result?

I am thinking...  Wouldn't you like to know? ;)

From the learning rooms... Oh, oh, oh! We have a new school room and the boys are ever so excited! This week Jacob has been practicing counting to 100, and Jamie is totally enthralled by listening. Joe has mastered (ok, perhaps not mastered, but is working diligently) colors. Joshua is learning patience. Ok, well, he is supposed to be learning patience. He's really rather cute...

I am thankful for...  I have been tremendously blessed by the outpouring of love from my friends. They have been helping with meals while I am recovering from my back troubles, and I am just beyond blessed and thankful to have these ladies as friends. Thankful isn't nearly big enough of a word. I am humbled, I feel loved, and I am so, so blessed.

From the kitchen... the love of my wonderful friends.

I am wearing... denim skirt, lime green geometric print top, white cami, black cardigan.

I am reading... "Created to be His Help Meet" by Debi Pearl. (yes, AGAIN)

I am hoping... "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." Romans 15:13

I am creating... yesterday Jacob and I made Alphabet posters.

I am praying... "Pray without ceasing." 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Around the house... the quietness of bedtime.

One of my favorite things... "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God." Colossians 3:16

A few plans for the rest of the week... mostly resting and school.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you..

Outside my window... the sun is setting on a pretty nice day.

I am thinking... Sigh. My heart feels sad for people who's lives must be utterly miserable for them to seek out hurting others.

From the learning rooms... New curriculum!!!! Yay!!!!

I am thankful for...  an abundance of "stuff", even though it was driving me crazy earlier when trying to get organized, lol!

From the kitchen... pot roast, mashed potatoes, veggies and sweet tea. Oh, and haircuts...yeah, we do haircuts in the kitchen, lol.

I am wearing... navy blue pants, a green and blue geometric print shirt.

I am reading... "For the Children's Sake" by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay

Around the house... same things as usual. :)

One of my favorite things... looking forward to Rick having a vacation.

A few plans for the rest of the week... meeting with a friend tomorrow to talk about homeschool co-op plans, a party on Thursday, school, hopefully the gym, and all the usual good stuff.

I am reading... "Girls Just Gotta Have Clean.", oh and rock books and space books, of course. :)

Outside my window... I'm watching a pair of cardinals. I love seeing them! I know most people are fascinated with the bright red males, but I really think the females are just so beautiful in their own, sweet way.

I am thinking... I just might take a nap today. I cannot believe how tired I am...

From the learning rooms... lots of discussion about the difference between "questions" and just saying something.

I am thankful for...I am looking around my house and all I can think is that I am so thankful for my home. I love that you can see our personality in it, that I am surrounded by reminders of my faith, and pictures of my blessings. When I am here, I don't want to leave, and when I am away, I look forward to returning home.

From the kitchen...I'm thinking meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, green beans and rolls. With sweet tea, of course.

I am wearing..a denim skirt, purple shirt and white cardigan. Oh, and pink, purple and black argyle knee socks. :)

I am reading... "Manual of Prayer". Really enjoying reading through the prayers.

I am hoping... To sleep better tonight. I just could not sleep last night and I am exhausted.

I am creating... new rooms. We have been doing some rearranging, and it feels like we have suddenly have new spaces.

I am praying... I have a lot on my mind...nothing serious, just "feels" like a lot...praying for some resolution.

Outside my window... cold and gray and snowy.

I am thinking... Why does Jacob have to tell me everytime he needs to use the bathroom?

From the learning rooms... The boys new favorite story is about Jesus calming the storm. Our children our weird though and now Joshua pretends he is "Thunder" and Jacob is "The Storm." As Rick says...they sound like a cheesy 80's wrestling team.."Thunder and the Storm!"

I am thankful for...new dresses we found at Target.

From the kitchen...ranch dip with crackers (I had a craving, lol) And for dinner, I'm thinking sausage and mashed potato bake.

I am wearing..a green, navy and yellow plaid dress. (new!) and a taupe cardigan

Outside my window... WOW it is cold! And we still have a lot of snow on the ground.

I am thinking... Why is football so frustrating, yet husbands HAVE to watch it.

From the learning rooms... Jacob has been practicing with scissors. He sure loves to make things from paper...he MUST be my son, LOL.

I am thankful for...sleeping through the night!!!!!!!! Yippee!!!!!!

From the kitchen...I have been enjoying getting back in the habit of baking regularly...and the boys are enjoying it, too ;)

I am wearing..a khaki calf length skirt, green sweater with buttons around the neckline as decoration, green argyle knee socks.

I am reading... "Created to Be His Helpmeet". I wasn't sure what to expect with this book...I have heard either great or horrible things about it. People really seem to love or hate it. Personally, I enjoyed the book. I don't think I learned anything new, but I always enjoy hearing other people's personal thoughts on the subject.

I am hoping... that everyone will be feeling better tomorrow.

I am creating... a new homemaking notebook. Oh goodie!

I am praying... Praying for several friends...

Around the house... I'm an organizing machine!

One of my favorite things...that my husband loves that I pay attention to his football team, even though I don't actually like football.

A few plans for the rest of the week... We are snowbound for the time being, lol. There's just too much snow and ice, and really even if there weren't, it is way to cold to take my little ones out. So, we are enjoying our time at home. Been doing tons of organizing, really getting our house in order. Now that Jamie is sleeping better, we have been able to get into a good routine.
